Lack of OT visibility limits manufacturing site security.
- Extend the same robust security in data centers and offices to its operational technology and manufacturing floors.
- Produce a real-time inventory of all OT assets.
- Understand the security risk levels associated with each device.
- Segment and control devices’ risk to contain security threats.
Palo Alto Networks assisted BorgWarner in implementing OT network segmentation at five global sites, enhancing security without disrupting operations. This strategy improves security, limits breaches, and aligns with risk management practices valued by cyber insurance providers. As a result, BorgWarner is well-positioned to reduce insurance premiums and improve coverage.
This method fulfills containment strategies and lowers cyber risks by creating manageable device zones. It also enhances network performance by limiting outbound traffic from the manufacturing floor, leading to improved visibility and increased operational safety through risk detection.
Building on these achievements, BorgWarner is implementing Palo Alto Networks Industrial OT Security solution across its remaining 75 facilities, each with unique requirements. The objectives are to reduce security incidents, contain any that occur, and effectively manage and monitor access control through Industrial OT Security and a Zero Trust approach.
“By leveraging Palo Alto Networks Industrial OT Security, we’re able to get a very accurate and up-to-date real-time inventory of all of our assets on the floor and manage the risk of each device.”
